It's a beautiful time of the year as the leaves turn brown and the temperatures cool. The humidity drops creating that near perfect temperature. However our skin can feel less than perfect during the cooler months. The loss in humidity can cause the skin to feel tight, itchy and flaky.
It's so important to keep our skin hydrated during this time of the year. I've started to dip into the body creams having enjoyed the luxury of not needing it for the last few months.
With the proper care, our skin should feel moist and plump. It just takes a few extra steps in our everyday routine. Dedicate a few extra minutes to making sure your skin gets a bit more moisture.
The key to retaining moisture is layering. If you are used to just cleanse and moisturise, it is probably worth investing a bit of extra time into using a toner and a serum before you apply the moisturiser.
Some people are blessed and are born with skin that produces more or less sebum in accordance with the seasons. However that might not be the case for most of us.
After cleansing your face and neck, spray on a toner and pat dry rapidly with your fingers until most of it is absorbed. Use a toner that works hard i.e. something that moisturisers, refreshes and is also super nourishing.
After applying a toner, use a natural serum packed with nutrients . I even add 1 or 2 drops of essential oils to my serum to give it an even bigger boost as I feel I need all the help I can get! Massage this into your face and neck...it feels amazing. Last step, apply your moisturiser to lock in all that goodness.
All the toners in our store are all natural and made predominantly with organic ingredients which are highly restorative for your skin.
The same goes for the serums. They are rich in high quality natural ingredients that are like superfoods for your skin. I use a different serum for the day and night. My night time ultraC serum by The Little Alchemist contains Vitamin C and Vitamin A which help fade spots but can be photosensitive so it's best used when you are safely out of the sun.
If you want to boost your skin care with essential oils. The best ones for skincare are patchouli, lavender, rosemary and frankincense. Click here for the link to our range of organic essential oils.

Most importantly, make sure you enjoy the ritual of pampering your skin.
